Orange Shirt Day
September 30th is Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is also called Orange Shirt Day in honour of Phyllis Webstad, a Northern Secwpemc woman, who was forced to abandon her brilliant orange shirt on her first day of residential school. Discover titles, both fiction and non-fiction, that share about Indigenous people and how their lives were and are affected by residential schools and colonialism.
